Last Monday I cooked a batch of what I call my 'student survival mince' because I practically lived on it in University.
Minced beef, mushrooms, onions. Grated carrots, a packet of soup - made up with only half the amount of water. Garlic puree, tomato puree, a tin of tomatos, mustard. Tumeric, paprika, cayenne pepper, and a spoonful of golden syrup.
Brown the mince, fry the onions and onions. Throw everything into a saucepan and simmer for about 20 to 25 mins.
Serve with rice or pasta or potatos.
The closer to the end of term I'd make it, the less meat i'd be able to afford to put in it!
