Somebody should tell these charities that it's no use having their people standing out in the street when everybody is trying to go home. Whatever chance they have of getting people to give them their bank details for direct debit donations under normal circumstances, there's no way anybody wants to be stopped at 5.30 when they're on the way home and it's freezing cold.

Not that I was about to stand there and give him my bank account number on the spot (even assuming that I was able to remember it). If I'm going to donate money, I'd like to do it in someplace a lot more warm and comfortable and secure, dammit!
